Jennifer missed her intended target but the point had been driven home.
"The masked guys! THey are just flesh and blood! Shoot 'em!" she cried. It was then she noticied the the Gear-Head walked calmly over to this...monster? Really, there was no other term for something without a face that did...THIS...to people. Seeing a potential problem, she was going to end it before it began;
The Gear-head didn't know what was happening. He had followed the compulsion upon him by the boogie man they had been warned about. He didn't know that a fate worse than death was drawing closer with every step he took. Mercifully, he didn't feel the bullet penatrate his brainstem, fired by none other than his Sarge.
Realizing this was a hopless situation, she did the only thing she could think to do. "Retreat! Lay down a supressing fire and flee!"
Following orders, the men fired as she led them outside. Despite the deperate situation, despite the adrenalyn in her system, despite killing one of her own men, she still had the sense of mind to notice the tracks of a large vehicle leading off into the distance.
If others survived, we need to join up. I didn't see Mike here, maybe he made it out. If I can find them, I'll likely find HIM.
"Follow me!" she yelled, leading them down the path David had driven them not terribly long ago..

Running faster than even they were used to, the 5 survivors made their way down the tracks. Eventually, the tracks led to blacktop, making tracking much more difficult. Jennifer thanked her extreme endurance as she led them away. After ensuring nothing was following them, they slowed down and caught their breath.
"You...you fuckin' SHOT him! I saw you, don't try to deny it!" one of her men screamed.
"Shut. Up." Jennifer responded, pointing her gun at him. "He was already dead. He might have been walking but he was dead. Now, do you want to scream some more and make the rest of us all dead when IT shows up again?"
"I knew it...man...we're all dead. I emptied a clip into that thing and it didn't even flinch...game over, man." one of her other men mumbled.
"Stop whining. We haven't got time for this." Jennifer said, turning her ire on the whiner.
"...Hey, Sarge? Maybe...? Maybe we should just fail this mission. You know? Just go back home. I prefer barracks life to civi life anyway, you know?" one man suggested, trembling a little.
Jennifer turned to him and, saying nothing walked over. She put a gloved hand on his face, feeling his features. She smiled at him a little while her other hand came up from her pocket. Moving both hands lightning fast, a deep gash appeared on his cheek leaking crimson, her razor sharp pocket knife having carved a permanent addition to his face.
"Augh....God...Aughh..." was all he could manage as his hands went to stem the flow of his blood. Tears leaked from his eyes as he backed away.
"So. Anyone else wanna desert?" She asked. Seeing everyone shake their head, she smiled. "Know this. If any of you start walking towards the boogie man, I WILL shoot you. I expect you to do the same to me. For all we know, IT wanted to put a mask on him and make him another damn puppet. I wasn't going to let that happen to him."
"Hey, Sarge?" the tracker from earlier asked, "I see something, over there in the trees. Something shiny."
"Wait here." she responded. She walked off just a little off the blacktop and found a magnificent sight: A damn mini-gun. Her eyes gleamed with the sight of this beautiful weapon of mass destruction.
Who would possibly leave you alone like this? Whoever they are, they don't deserve...
She was interrupted mid-thought by a crude etching on the weapon. It seemed the previous owner had carved "Juliana" on the weapon.
...There is only one jackass in all the world that would do this. McMANUS!

Hauling her new find back to her men, she immediately gave the responsibility of holding it to one of her underlings.
Seeing nothing more in the way of tracks, the continued down the street for quite a long time until they came upon what appeared to be a commercial district. They found one of those super stores that offers one-stop shopping and Jennifer decided now would be a great time to take a break. She had some frustrations to work out.
They entered the store and found it empty of life. There was one body laying near one of the cashier sections. It appeared to belong to a male. It had its shift torn from it, laying near the corpse. The sickening thing was the the body was stripped of all its skin. Counting on the place being abandoned, she ordered her men to gather any provisions they liked and to meet by the changing room.
After several minutes, the men returned with plenty of food. One solider, the tracker, brought with him steak, a high-end grill, and some propane. Jennifer decided that he was now officially her favorite.
Ignoring the safety hazard of grilling indoors, she had one of her men start making up some of his famous steaks while three of the other men took turn keeping watch. The tracker, however, she had other plans for.
"Follow me." was all she said, then walked into the changing room. She knew the others would hear what they were doing but couldn't care less. She had to relax and this was her favorite past time.
About 20 minutes later, both of them emerged and one man dared to whistle. Forgetting himself for a second, he quickly apologized. Jennifer just smiled, grabbed a steak, some A1 sauce, and ate quickly.

The group rested for a while, people taking turns keeping watch as the group slept in shifts. Little did they know Mike was currently hopped up on pills and projectile vomiting on the lone surviving member of the ranger squad and one of the local townsfolk named Mia. As they rested, the group had encountered strange dreams of children, fog, and of Slender Man. Meanwhile, several of the local townsfolk, working with what remained of the S Walkers, worked to secure the home of one of the S Walkers against It. After the group felt each other out, they started acting more like a family and less like strangers. Gavin's parents were even now being buried by complete strangers so that their son could have some peace.
The group was interrupted by a vehicle of some sort blasting heavy metal. They didn't know it was former ranger turned S Walker David Ramirez blowing off steam after watching Kate and Mike share an awkward couple of kisses. He was pushed over the edge seeing Gavin and Faye hook up as well. They stepped outside just as the vehicle disappeared out of sight.
So, the town isn't as abandoned as I thought. I know Mike likes a bit of metal but he doesn't know how to drive. Couldn't be him.
Despite her desire to find more people and have strength in numbers, she opted instead to continue to camp out at the store. Hours later, everyone was still pretty shaken but their meal left them feeling better. Around this time, Kate had entered some form of mental breakdown and was sleeping, Mike keeping some kind of awkward vigil over here. Mia, an amnesiac had regained her memories and was given the gift of a mask by the Masked man that had survived, only to turn into a Slender Man himself. After a considerable length of time, she had them gear up and loot anything they wanted. One soldier had tons of chocolate, mike, dark, truffle, it didn't matter. Clearly the man had a sweet tooth as he also had some jolly ranchers. Even now, he popped one in his mouth, almost as though it would make things right and innocent again.
Finally, they started to move out. They opted to head in the direction the car went hours earlier, leading to the residential area of the town. They hoped that it would lead them to somebody, anybody, really.

They walked down the road and suddenly head a round being fired way off in the distance. This was followed shortly thereafter by another round. They knew it not but that was Mike trying to use strategy to lure out Mia who had gone off on her own again. It weighed heavily on their nerves.
They slowed their trek and took greater caution. About an hour later, they left the comercial district. Kate had come out of her medical-incuded sleep and everyone was focused on Faye's attempt to give Slender Man a hug. Mike, Kate, and Jake just about came to blows, Kate going as far as firing a round into Jake's foot.
Coming upon the residential areas, they didn't see any signs of life at all. At least, not until they heard a vehicle off in the distance. Jennifer pulled out her binoculars but couldn't really find the source of the commotion. It had been Ophelia, entering town to search for her mom.
Jennifer was getting anxious. She knew that she needed to make a serious judgement call soon. She was down a man, moral was low, and there was a nightmare given flesh stalking them. Even now, she could feel his eyeless gaze upon her, measuring her.
The large woman took off her shades and rubbed her eyes, then the march resumed. It was't too much longer before they entered a richer area of the town. Several of the houses were bigger, there was a nice park, and the decor outside just looked generally better. She was pretty sure she heard voices so Jennifer ordered everyone to trek through the woods behind the houses.
It wasn't much longer that the source of the voices was within binocular distance. She saw a man in a gas mask apparently to a man of Hispanic decent. Both were clearly armed and likely with the military though the unmasked one seemed to be leaning on a tree for support. They geasured to what she was certain were others but her view was blocked by the house she was hiding behind.
They had arrived at David's home.
((SHIT JUST GOT REAL, YO!))

((Not yet. Chances are, we will all be driving away before they decide to come out, jack a vehicle, and give swift pursuit.))
Jennifer sat there with her men, staring at the men she did not know was Jack Bailey and David Ramirez. They didn't appear off the deep end but she was not taking chances. Frong their hiding spot behind the tree line behind David's house, she deicded to observe. While she was able to hear voices, they were indistinguisable from one another, so she did not know their number nor their faction, and she was not about to make a stand without ever bit of intellegence possible. That, the she noticed the fog was rolling in again.
Silently, she motioned for her men to be quiet and to hold positions. At least, until they knew all the details of the two+ group across the street.

The Slender Man moved through the fog, letting it conceal him as he walked. So many to choose, so many.. should he take the one he had tried to infiltrate earlier? He could "smell" the blood from her, feel the sickness..
Or maybe the ones that wanted to hurt him.. he could sense the anger, wanted so much to increase it and make them attack him. Make them come right up to him, like so many others had.. no. There was something else.
He looked over, recognizing the ones that had killed one of the Masked Men, hours before..
Slowly, the fog near David's house started to thin..
He walked out of what was left, going right for Jennifer and her group, his servant at his side.

Jennifer saw the fog dissipate across the street and took that as a good sign. You know, since this time, no piles of corpses were revealed. She mimicked Mike's blowing of heavy sighs.
Her men stood patiently while their leader looked on through the binoculars at the strange group. She wasn't certain, but it appeared that there were 2 civi's, male and female, huddled close together in some of the weird romantic pish posh she hated so much. Suddenly, a auburn-haired woman made herself known when, in a fit of coughing, moved her into a line of sight. She put the binoculars away and turned to her men. All four of them had jaws trembling, several had wet spots between their leg, and they were all backing away from her slowly.
No, not me...
She turned and saw the source of their fear. "NO, YOU!" she yelled, pointing at the monster and his...brother?
Aww shit...there is two of them.

Jennifer backed away slowly as the heads of these monsters tilted at their sickening angle, mimicking the movements of her men. As one, they backed away, mouths hanging open, Jennifer pointing her gun, alternating between the two Slender Man things.
The Tracker had been holding the Minigun, named Juliana by Mike McManus hours before. He didn't have the presence of mind to aim the weapon at the two threats unfortunately. However, fortunately for him, since he had the big gun, he was still useful to his Sarge.
The man to his immediate right, however, was not. This man had done little else other than say "Game Over" since all this crazy started. His shock was complete when Jennifer passed him, then kicked out the back of his knee. He dropped like a rock, only to suddenly hear a round go off and a intense pain in his thigh.
Jennifer had shot him. She was using him as a means to delay the monsters so that the rest could get away. His screams for help and of protest were ignored as Jennifer barked for the remainder to run through the woods. She didn't want to risk meeting the people she saw yet, not until she was sure they were not the ones who killed off those rangers in the forest.
For their part, the other men looked helplessly back at the man who was trying to goose-step away, only to trip and have to pick himself back up. The look of terror in his eyes told them that he knew he was going to die and there was nothing he could do to stop it. They would have protested but they didn't want themselves to end up in a similar situation. They realized they were just cattle waiting for slaughter, should the Sarge require it.
Speeding a block away, the street had curved to intercept their route, exposing a car outside line of sight to the group of people they spotted. Jennifer quickly smashed open a window and proceeded to try to get the vehicle started. Her men all hopped in the back seat, not trusting her to keep from shooting the one in the passenger seat and shoving them out to delay the Slender Men more.
Come on, come on, start! Please, start baby...
When the engine roared to life, she about cried in joy.

The first, the original Slender Man paused as it saw the faced one get hit. A shower of blood and a few bits of gore erupted from the wound and coated the forest floor and a few seconds later the faced one itself had fallen.
It's head tilted to the side and it regarded the man curiously. It had never seen one of them attack their own kind.. not the ones that carried those curious toys, the ones that seemed to shoot flame...
It moved closer to the man even as he tried to get up and move away. The Slender Man looked at the creatures darting eyes for a few seconds before grabbing it's neck. Squeezing, it almost seemed satisfied when the mans head seemed to.. explode.
It looked down, watching one of his eye balls roll across the ground. Slowly it looked back up, watching the group of humans run into the car. It started to walk to the car, his companion already moving there from the vehicles other side..

Jennifer looked up, grateful that the care started. That joy was short-lived when she looked up and saw another of those...Things...coming from the other direction.
"Hold on, boys!" she hollered, then jammed her foot against the gas, peeling off into the distance.
